What Information We Collect

Lion Guardians collects Personal Information that you provide while using the Sites. For instance, we gather information when you fill out forms, including e-newsletter sign-up forms and donation forms.

Lion Guardians may use your Personal Information: to send you information about the activities of Lion Guardians and its partners; to personalize your interactions with Lion Guardians, such as to customize your email content based on your interests, send you relevant campaigns, and otherwise target content and communications to you; to respond to inquiries and fulfill your requests, such as to process donations; to send administrative information to you, such as information regarding the Sites and changes to our terms, conditions, and policies; for our internal purposes, such as data analysis, audits, fraud monitoring and prevention, enhancing, improving or modifying the Sites, identifying usage trends, determining the effectiveness of our promotional campaigns, and operating and expanding our activities.

Your Personal Information may be disclosed: to our fiscal sponsor, Wildlife Guardians (DBA Lion Guardians US); to our third party service providers who provide services such as website hosting, data analysis, payment processing, information technology and related infrastructure provision, email delivery, auditing, and other similar services.

We may also use and disclose your Personal Information as we believe to be necessary or appropriate: (a) under applicable law, including laws outside your country of residence; (b) to comply with legal process; (c) to respond to requests from public and government authorities, including public and government authorities outside your country of residence; (d) to enforce our terms and conditions; (e) to protect our operations or those of any of our affiliates; (f) to protect our rights, privacy, safety or property, and/or that of our affiliates, you, or others; and (g) to allow us to pursue available remedies or limit the damages that we may sustain.

If we are required to treat Other Information as Personal Information under applicable law, then we may use it for all the purposes for which we use and disclose Personal Information. Unsubscribe and Data Deletion

Children’s Usage

The Sites are not directed at children under the age of 16, and Lion Guardians does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16. In the event that Lion Guardians learns that it has collected personal information from a child under age 16 without parental consent, we will delete that information as quickly as possible.

Cross-Border Transfer

The Sites are controlled and operated jointly from the United States and Kenya, and are not intended to subject you or us to the laws or jurisdiction of any other state, country, or territory. By using the Sites, you consent to the transfer, storage, and processing of information to countries outside of your country of residence, which may have different data protection rules.  Users in the European Union should be aware that their data will be transferred to the United States and Kenya and that the European Commission has not found United States or Kenyan law to adequately protect the rights of data subjects. Lion Guardians takes reasonable precautions to ensure that all processing activities conducted on our behalf are compliant with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Under that regulation, EU users who believe their data has been misused have the right to lodge a complaint with their Member State’s supervisory authority.
