Hello everyone,
I have some news about Kapande. A good friend of mine who lives in Nairobi went to visit him at the hospital. Kapande is doing fine and the doctors are going to release him in a week or so. He still needs some more time to rest and recover from the surgery. We are happy that he is recovering. When I got the news I went to his boma and told his wife. She was so relieved to hear that Kapande was okay and on the mend. We all miss him here and hope he returns home soon, but are so thankful that we were able to get him the medical care that he needed.
We are very thankful for many things. One of the things we are most thankful for are all the people out there who support us and donate to our project. We just got news that we’ve received donations from Gregory S., Nancy C., THERESA S., and M Rosalie K. Also, we received a monthly donation from John D. THANK YOU, your support is essential to our success and growth. Together we can make a difference in the world.
Anthony, thank you for sharing this good news with us. I’m very happy for his wife. He was in surgery so long, I feared he might develop complications. You truly helped save his life.
I’m so glad Kapande is doing well – thanks for updating us Antony! Also, an update from me – thank you to everyone who helped out on the fundraiser on insiderpages. You were all wonderful! We raised $118.75 which will be sent to Wildlife Direct in New York and then will be credited to the Lion Guardians. I wish we could do something like that every month.

Yes, Thank you Fiona for setting up the fundraiser; it was definitely successful. Is it possible to do it again in a few months? I was just getting warmed up. I discovered several outlets to get the fundraiser out to a greater mass of people, but it was already too late. Next time, if I can publicize it to a larger audience with more time, I think we could earn even more money!
Hi Steph, I actually set something up for the Mara Conservancy and I’m just waiting to see if it gets approved. We could definitely do Guardians again in few months, but hopefully, if the Conservancy one goes through, we can help them out too.
