Due to popular demand we’re excited to give you the unique opportunity of sponsoring a lion!

Sponsor a lion for yourself or on behalf of someone.  If you’re finding it hard buying a special gift for the person who has everything, want your gift to make a real difference in conservation, or if you’ve simply don’t have time to go shopping, this is an ideal and heartfelt gift.

We have four special levels of sponsorship available. Whatever the level of sponsorship, 100% of your donation goes directly to funding the work undertaken to protect you lion; from employing Lion Guardians, to operating our lion monitoring efforts.  The list at the bottom of the page shows how your funds will help us.

Sponsor a cub at $250
You will receive a certificate of sponsorship, and a bi-annual update on your sponsored lion written by the Lion Guardian team protecting your lion.

Sponsor a sub-adult at $500
You will receive a certificate of sponsorship, and a bi-annual update on your sponsored lion written by the Lion Guardian team protecting your lion as well as a personal letter of thanks from Leela and Stephanie, the founders of Lion Guardians.

Sponsor an adult at $1,000
You will receive a certificate of sponsorship, and a bi-annual update on your sponsored lion written by the Lion Guardian team protecting your lion, a personal letter of thanks from Leela and Stephanie, the founders of Lion Guardians, and a special gift.

Sponsor a lion family at $5,000
You will receive a certificate of sponsorship, and a bi-annual update on your sponsored lion written by the Lion Guardian team protecting your lion, a personal letter of thanks from Leela and Stephanie, the founders of Lion Guardians, and a special gift plus you will be able to choose a high-resolution screensaver from a selection of professional quality photographs taken by Philip Briggs of the lions in our study areas.

• US$ 25 buys a mobile phone for a Lion Guardian
• US$ 40 buys a solar flashlight/phone charger unit
• US$ 100 buys a GPS unit for Lion Guardian
• US$ 250 covers 6 months of telephone credit for the Lion Guardians or the purchase of a refurbished VHF lion monitoring collar.
• US$ 500 covers a vehicle’s fuel, maintenance and repair for 1 month
• US$ 750 covers the cost of a computer, external hard drive and flash drive
• US$ 1,000 can support a Lion Guardian’s salary for a year or buy a radio telemetry receiver to communicate with a lion collar
• US$ 1,500 buys a projector, generator and screen for showing environmental education films in the community
• US$ 3,500 supports the salary of a Lion Guardian Coordinator for a year or buys a GPS enabled lion monitoring collar
• US$ 5,000 buys a motorcycle for a Lion Guardian Coordinator or a satellite enabled lion monitoring collar
• US$ 10,000 contributes towards the salary of a lead biologist
• US$ 25,000 buys a Suzuki Maruti for a Lion Guardian Coordinator and Biologist to use when responding to lion reports
• US$ 50,000 buys a 4-wheel drive Toyota Landcruiser pickup truck
